DTC C1AB5-13: Outer Mirror Indicator (Module "A" Side) Circuit Open [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor "A" > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2019 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH (A) AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M2 blind spot monitor sensor RH (A) connector.
    2. Disconnect the J15 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M2-4 (OMIR) - J15-3 (BSR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      J15-11 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Disconnect the A outer mirror RH (outer rear view mirror indicator RH) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J15-3 (BSR+) - A-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      J15-11 (E) - A-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

  5. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR RH (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR RH) 

    Refer to INSPECTION [12/2019 - ]

  6. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor "A" > Trouble Codes

      C1AB5-13 is output B

    Result:

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY RH - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR RH [A] AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the M2 blind spot monitor sensor RH (A) connector.
    2. Disconnect the J7 outer mirror control ECU assembly RH connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M2-4 (OMIR) - J7-13 (BDSR) Always Below 1 Ω
      J7-7 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
