HINT: 

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the GTS on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake Booster / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > Brake Booster > Trouble Codes 

    6. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB* / Trouble Codes.

      *: Electric Parking Brake System

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes 

    7. Check the DTC(s) and Freeze Frame Data, and then write them down.
      NOTE:

      The electronically controlled brake system outputs DTCs for the following system. When DTCs other than those in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the electronically controlled brake system are output, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the relevant system.

      HINT: 

      GTS Display Description
      Test Failed Shows the malfunction judgment results during the current trip.
      Confirmed* Shows the DTCs confirmed up to now. (The number of current trips differs for each DTC.)

      *: Including 2 trip detection

    8. Check the details of the DTC(s).

      Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2019 - 10/2021] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2021 - 11/2023] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2023 - ]

  2. CLEAR DTC (CONFIRMED DTC) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the GTS on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake Booster / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > Brake Booster > Clear DTCs 

    6. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB* / Trouble Codes.

      *: Electric Parking Brake System

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs 

    7. Press the clear button.
  3. CHECK TIME STAMP 

    HINT: 

    By checking Time Stamp, the time and order in which DTCs were stored in an ECU can be checked.

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the GTS on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Health Check.
    6. Perform the following steps when the data setting screen is displayed.
    7. Select the systems for which to perform Health Check and check for time stamp data.

      Selectable items: 

      • Powertrain
      • Chassis
      • Body
      • Store All Data
    8. Select "Yes" when "Would you like to include Time Stamp Data?" is displayed.

      HINT: 

      If "Yes" is not selected, time stamp data will not be stored.

    9. After Health Check has completed, select "Time Stamp Data" to display the Time Stamp screen.
    10. Select the desired system from the drop-down list on the bottom of the Time Stamp screen.
    11. Check the order and time which DTCs were stored for the selected system.
  4. CLEAR PERMANENT DTC 

    OUTLINE 

    1. After clearing confirmed DTCs using the GTS, permanent DTCs can be cleared when the universal trip is performed and then the system is determined to be normal for the relevant DTCs. The driving pattern to obtain a normal judgment is described under the "Confirmation Driving Pattern" for the respective DTC.
    2. To clear permanent DTCs, all of the following conditions must be met:
      • There is a history that universal trip driving was performed.
      • The vehicle has been judged as normal for 1trip.
      • No malfunctions are detected.
    NOTE:

    When performing the following procedure, make sure that the driver door is closed and is not opened at any time during the procedure.

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Turn the GTS on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB* / Trouble Codes.

      *: Electric Parking Brake System

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes 

      HINT: 

      If "PERMANENT" in the top right of the screen displays "YES", permanent DTCs are stored.

    6. Select the "Generic" tab.
    7. Check if permanent DTCs are stored.

      HINT: 

      If permanent DTCs are not output, it is not necessary to continue this procedure.

    8. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs 

      NOTE:

      Do not clear the DTCs or disconnect the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal after performing this step.

    9. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 4 minutes or more.
    10. Perform the universal trip.

      HINT: 

      The driving pattern to obtain a normal judgment and the universal trip driving can be performed consecutively in the same driving cycle.

      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY) and wait for 30 seconds or more.
      2. With the engine running, drive the vehicle at 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for a total of 5 minutes or more.
        WARNING:

        When performing a driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

        HINT: 

        It is possible to complete the drive pattern even if the vehicle decelerates to less than 40 km/h (25 mph) during the driving cycle provided that the vehicle is driven at 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for a total of 5 minutes.

      3. Allow 10 minutes or more to elapse from the time the ignition switch turned to ON (READY).
    11. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 4 minutes or more.
    12. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    13. Perform the normal judgment procedure in the respective confirmation driving pattern of each output DTC.

      HINT: 

      Do not turn the ignition switch off by mistake during this step.

    14. With the ignition switch ON (READY) wait for 5 seconds or more. (Except when the ignition switch is already turned to ON (READY) or the engine is running)
    15. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 4 minutes or more.
    16. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY).
    17. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB* / Trouble Codes.

      *: Electric Parking Brake System

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes 

    18. Check that the permanent DTCs have been cleared.
