Removal [10/2022 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2019 - 11/2023]

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) WITH BRACKET (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

  3. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Disconnect the No. 2 instrument panel wire.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 44

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

    Deployment Side
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Pry back the passenger airbag door retainer to disengage the 3 hooks.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the deployment surface of the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

    3. Disengage the 3 hooks to remove the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
  6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 
    1. Separate the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the wire harness clamp.

    2. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
