Removal [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH 

    See step  5 [12/2019 - 10/2022], or see step  5 [10/2022 - 11/2023], or see step  5 [11/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    See step  7 [12/2019 - 10/2022], or see step  7 [10/2022 - 11/2023], or see step  7 [11/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE POWER BACK DOOR UNIT SET ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

      *a Grommet
    2. Disengage the grommet.
    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the 2 stop rings as shown in the illustration.

      *a Protective Tape
    4. Disengage the 2 ball joints to remove the power back door unit set assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Remove the power back door unit set assembly while supporting the back door by hand.
      • Make sure to replace the power back door unit set assembly with a new one.
  5. REMOVE BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY UPPER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and back door damper stay upper bracket.

  6. REMOVE BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY LOWER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and back door damper stay lower bracket.

    2. Remove the 2 bushes.
  7. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY STOPPER 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the back door stay stopper is necessary.

    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the back door stay stopper.
