Installation [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

HINT: 

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the back door stay stopper is necessary.

1. Engage the 2 claws to install the back door stay stopper.

1. Install the 2 bushes.
2. Install the back door damper stay lower bracket with the 2 bolts.

   Torque: 38 N.m (387 kgf/cm, 28 ft.lbf) 

1. Clean the 2 bolt holes of the vehicle body.
2. Apply adhesive to the threads of the 2 bolts.

   Adhesive

   Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

3. Install the back door damper stay upper bracket with the 2 bolts.

   Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

1. Engage the 2 ball joints to install the power back door unit set assembly.

   NOTE:

   Install the power back door unit set assembly while supporting the back door by hand.

2. Check that the power back door unit set assembly is engaged to the ball joints and that it cannot be pulled out.
3. Engage the grommet.
4. Connect the connector.

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

HINT: 

When the back door upper stopper cushion or back door damper stay lower bracket is removed, it is necessary to perform back door position adjustment.
