Taillight Relay Circuit [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the 8J power distribution box assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8J-1 - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TAILLIGHT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the M59 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the M8 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the W8 rear light assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the W7 rear light assembly RH connector.
    5. Disconnect the W5 license plate light assembly LH connector.
    6. Disconnect the W6 license plate light assembly RH connector.
    7. Disconnect the A70 headlight assembly LH connector.
    8. Disconnect the A69 headlight assembly RH connector.
    9. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M59-2 (TL) - 8G-30 Always Below 1 Ω
      M8-2 (TL) - 8G-30 Always Below 1 Ω
      W8-2 (B) - 8G-30 Always Below 1 Ω
      W7-2 (B) - 8G-30 Always Below 1 Ω
      W5-1 (B) - 8G-30 Always Below 1 Ω
      W6-1 (B) - 8G-30 Always Below 1 Ω
      A70-2 (B) - 8E-18 Always Below 1 Ω

      M59-2 (TL), M8-2 (TL), W8-2 (B), W7-2 (B), W5-1 (B), W6-1 (B) or 8G-30 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the M59 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Turn the light control switch to the tail position.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      W6-1 (B) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V

    1. Connect the M8 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Turn the light control switch to the tail position.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  13. CHECK LICENSE PLATE LIGHT BULB LH 
    1. Disconnect the license plate light bulb LH connector.
    2. Turn the light control switch to the TAIL position.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      W6-1 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    1. Disconnect the front side maker light bulb RH connector.
    2. Turn the light control switch to the TAIL position.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W6-1 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Result

  15. CHECK FRONT SIDE MAKER LIGHT BULB LH 
    1. Disconnect the front side maker light bulb LH connector.
    2. Turn the light control switch to the TAIL position.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W6-1 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Result
