DTC P3000-4B: Hybrid/EV Battery Control System Over Temperature [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P3000-4B only is output. A
      DTCs other than P3000-4B are also output. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM) 

    Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2019 - 09/2020] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2020 - 10/2021] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2021 - 11/2023]

  2. CLEAN NO. 2 HV BATTERY INTAKE FILTER 
    1. Check the HV battery cooling system intake port for blockage.

      HINT: 

      If anything is blocking the HV battery cooling system intake port, remove it.

    2. Clean the No. 2 HV battery intake filter (LH side and RH side).

  3. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Read the Freeze Frame Data of DTC P3000-4B.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      NOTE:

      Although Freeze Frame Data is recorded before and after a DTC is stored, for this step it is only necessary to read the Freeze Frame Data recorded before "0s" (when the DTC was stored).

  4. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Read the Freeze Frame Data of DTC P3000-4B.
      NOTE:

      Although Freeze Frame Data is recorded before and after a DTC is stored, for this step it is only necessary to read the Freeze Frame Data recorded at "0s" (when the DTC was stored).

  5. READ VALUE USING GTS (DATA LIST) 
    1. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List and check that the value of each "Hybrid Battery Temperature 1 to 6" is 40°C (104°F) or less.

      HINT: 

      If the value of any of "Hybrid Battery Temperature 1 to 6" is more than 40°C (104°F), turn the ignition switch off and wait until the values to decrease to 40°C (104°F) or less before continuing this procedure.
