DTC B1498: Communication Malfunction (A/C Inverter Local) [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Using the GTS, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2019 - 10/2021] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2022 - 11/2023]

  2. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL)

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the C65 compressor with motor assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A31 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    3. Disconnect the M7 battery state sensor assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C65-3 (DOUT) - A31-8 (LIN3) Always Below 1 Ω
      C65-3 (DOUT) or A31-8 (LIN3) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    WARNING:

    Do not disconnect the connector on the high-voltage side.

    1. Disconnect the C65 compressor with motor assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C65-2 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C65-1 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. INSPECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Remove the HV air conditioning wire.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      m1-2 (PB) - m2-1 (ACPB) Always Below 1 Ω
      m1-1 (PE) - m2-2 (ACPE) Always Below 1 Ω
      m1-2 (PB) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

    NG 

    REPLACE HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023] 

  6. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P058A-01 and P162B-87 are not output A
      P058A-01 or P162B-87 is output B

    Result: 

    A 

    GO TO HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM
