DTC B1498-87: A/C Inverter Local Missing Message [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    WARNING:

    Do not disconnect the connector on the high-voltage side.

    NOTE:

    As other DTCs will be stored when the ignition switch is turned to ON with the connector disconnected, be sure to clear the DTCs after the inspection.

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the C65 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C65-1 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the C65 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    2. Disconnect the A32 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C65-3 (DOUT) - A32-28 (LIN3) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. INSPECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the m1 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    2. Remove the HV air conditioning wire from the inverter with converter assembly.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that no foreign matter, water, etc., enters the inverter with converter assembly.

      HINT: 

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      m1-2 (PB) - m2-1 (ACPB) Always Below 1 Ω

  5. INSPECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Disconnect the m1 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    2. Remove the HV air conditioning wire from the inverter with converter assembly.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that no foreign matter, water, etc., enters the inverter with converter assembly.

      HINT: 

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      m1-1 (PE) - m2-2 (ACPE) Always Below 1 Ω

  6. INSPECT HV AIR CONDITIONING WIRE 
    WARNING:

      NOTE:

  7. CHECK FOR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the M107 battery state sensor assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes

    2. Disconnect the C65 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

      Procedure1

    3. Check for DTCs.

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the A32 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the C65 compressor with motor assembly connector.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the compressor with motor assembly.

    3. Disconnect the M107 battery state sensor assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A32-28 (LIN3) - C65-3 (DOUT) Always Below 1 Ω
      A32-28 (LIN3) - M107-2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      A32-28 (LIN3) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C65-3 (DOUT) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      M107-2 (LIN) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
