DTC P162B-87: Lost Communication with Battery Monitor Module Missing Message [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

1. Check installation condition of the battery state sensor assembly.

   Result

   NG

Result: 

NG 

INSTALL THE BATTERY STATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY CORRECTLY. Refer to  INSTALLATION [12/2019 - 11/2023] 

Result: 

OK

1. Check that the battery state sensor assembly connector is securely connected.

   OK

   The connector is securely connected.

2. Disconnect the M7 battery state sensor assembly connector.
3. Check the connector case and terminals for deformation or corrosion.

   OK

   No deformation or corrosion.

4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - BATTERY STATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

1. Disconnect the A31 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
2. Disconnect the M7 battery state sensor assembly connector.
3. Disconnect the C65 compressor with motor assembly connector.
4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A31-8 (LIN3) - M7-2 (LIN)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   M7-2 (LIN), A31-8 (LIN3) or C65-3 (DOUT) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Check for DTCs, and note down any DTCs that are output.

   Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

2. Clear the DTCs.

   Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Clear DTCs 

3. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds or more.

   Result

   Proceed to
   NEXT

1. Check for DTCs, and note down any DTCs that are output.

   Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes 

2. Clear the DTCs.

   Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Clear DTCs
