Installation [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF HOUSING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Loosen the 10 bolts from the brackets of the sliding roof housing assembly.
    2. Temporarily install the sliding roof housing assembly with the 6 nuts and 10 bolts.

    3. Tighten the 2 nuts (A).

      HINT: 

      Tighten the 2 nuts (A) in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

    4. Tighten the 4 nuts.

      Nut (B) 

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

      Nut (C) 

      Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf/cm, 49 in.lbf) 

    5. Tighten the 10 bolts (A).

      Bolt (C) - -

      Torque: 18.5 N.m (189 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

    6. Tighten the 4 bolts (B).

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf) 

    7. Tighten the 6 bolts (C) to install the sliding roof housing assembly.

      Torque: 29.5 N.m (301 kgf/cm, 22 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL TELEVISION BRACKET (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System) 
    1. Engage the 2 guides and clip.
    2. Install the television bracket with the 4 bolts.
  3. CONNECT SLIDING ROOF DRAIN HOSE 
    1. for Clamp Type:

      *a Clamp
      *b Marking
      1. Connect the sliding roof drain hose.

        HINT: 

        Slide the hose to the base of the drain pipe.

      2. Engage the claw to secure the sliding roof drain hose.

        HINT: 

        • Make sure that the clamp is on the marking or between the marking and hose end.
        • Use the same procedure for the other 3 sliding roof drain hoses.
    2. for Clip Type:

      1. Expand the clip and connect the sliding roof drain hose.

        HINT: 

        Slide the hose to the base of the drain pipe.

      2. Release the clip to secure the sliding roof drain hose.
        NOTE:

        The clip must face toward the outside of the vehicle and also be above the lower surface of the sliding roof housing assembly when installing the sliding roof drain hoses.

        HINT: 

        • Make sure that the clip is on the marking or between the marking and hose end.
        • Use the same procedure for the other 3 sliding roof drain hoses.
  4. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - 11/2023] , or refer to INSTALLATION [11/2023 - ]

  5. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, temporarily install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.
    2. Perform a level check.

      1. Check the difference in level "a" between the roof panel and the upper surface of the sliding roof glass sub-assembly when the sliding roof glass sub-assembly is fully closed.

        HINT: 

        "+" represents the condition that the glass is above the panel level. "-" represents the condition that the glass is below the panel level.

        Standard

        Area Measurement
        A - A -1.0 to 3.0 mm (-0.0394 to 0.118 in.)
        B - B -3.0 to 1.0 mm (-0.118 to 0.0394 in.)
        C - C -1.0 to 3.0 mm (-0.0394 to 0.118 in.)
        D - D -3.0 to 1.0 mm (-0.118 to 0.0394 in.)
    3. Perform a gap check.

      *a Even
      1. Check the gap between the roof panel and sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        The gap must be even all around.

    4. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.

      Torque: 4.0 N.m (41 kgf/cm, 35 in.lbf) 

  7. CHECK FOR WATER LEAK 
    1. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, check for water leakage into the vehicle interior.
    2. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
  8. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH 
    1. Engage the 2 claws to install a new sliding roof side garnish LH.
  9. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  10. INITIALIZE SLIDING ROOF SYSTEM 

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2019 - ]

  11. CHECK SLIDING ROOF SYSTEM 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [12/2019 - ]
