DTC B2275-11: Starter Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B2275-12: Starter Circuit Short to Battery [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait 25 seconds.

      Procedure1

    2. Using the GTS, check for certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Power Source Control > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2285-62 is not output simultaneously.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B2285-62 is not output A
      B2285-62 is output B

      Post-procedure1

    3. None

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC B2285-62. Refer to  DTC B2285-62: Steering Lock Position Signal Compare Failure [11/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the A88 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the H67 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A88-2 (ST2) - H67-4 (ST2) Always Below 1 Ω
      A88-2 (ST2) or H67-4 (ST2) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    4. Connect the A88 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    5. Connect the H67 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly))

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A88-2 (ST2) - Body ground With the brake pedal depressed, the power switch is pressed and held 8.5 V or higher
      A88-2 (ST2) - Body ground After approx. 3 sec. has elapsed, the power switch is released 1 V or less

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]
