WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2119-00, P2119-04, P2119-77 OR P2119-9B)
    1. Read the DTCs.

Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P2119-00, P2119-04, P2119-77 or P2119-9B is output A
      DTC P2119-00, P2119-04, P2119-77 or P2119-9B and other DTCs are output B

      HINT:

If any DTCs other than P2119-00, P2119-04, P2119-77 or P2119-9B are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

    Result:

GO TO DTC CHART  . Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2023 - 11/2024] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2024 - ]

    Result:

    See step  2

  2. CLEAR DTC
    1. Clear the DTCs.

Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs

    2. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

    NEXT

    See step  3

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (THROTTLE POSITION)
    1. Read the values displayed on the GTS while fully depressing and releasing the accelerator pedal quickly.

Powertrain > Engine > Data List

      Tester Display
Throttle Position Sensor No. 1 Voltage
      Throttle Position Command

      HINT:

During charge control, the engine speed is set at idle. Therefore, the engine speed will not increase when the accelerator pedal is depressed. In this case, perform this step after charge control has completed.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
Throttle Position Sensor No. 1 Voltage does not change A
Throttle Position Sensor No. 1 Voltage changes even a little B

      HINT:

When a DTC is output, the system changes to fail-safe mode. Therefore, only use the data up until the time the DTC is stored for confirmation.

    Result:

    See step  5

    Result:

    See step  4

  4. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (RESISTANCE OF THROTTLE ACTUATOR)

    Refer to INSPECTION [12/2019 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result:

    NG

    See step  9

    Result:

    OK

    See step  5

  5. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY (VISUALLY CHECK THROTTLE VALVE)
    1. Check for foreign matter between the throttle valve and housing. If necessary, clean the throttle body with motor assembly. Also, check that the throttle valve moves smoothly.

      OK

Throttle valve is not contaminated with foreign matter and moves smoothly.

      HINT:

Perform "Inspection After Repair" after cleaning the throttle body with motor assembly.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2021 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG
