Replacement [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

  2. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH 
    1. Using SST, remove the rear drive shaft oil seal LH from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
      • SST: 09308-00010 
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

  3. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH 
    1. Using SST, remove the rear drive shaft oil seal RH from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
      • SST: 09612-65014 
        1. 09612-01020
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.

  4. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH 
    1. Coat the lip of a new rear drive shaft oil seal RH with a small amount of MP grease.
    2. Using SST and a hammer, install the rear drive shaft oil seal RH to the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
      • SST: 09316-20011 
      • SST: 09517-30010 

      Standard Depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0196 to 0.0196 in.)

      • Make sure that the outer lip of the rear drive shaft oil seal RH is not pinched by SST.
      • Do not allow foreign matter to attach to the inner lip and outer lip of the rear drive shaft oil seal RH.
      • Do not install the rear drive shaft oil seal RH at an angle.
      • Do not remove the grease from the inner lip and outer lip of the rear drive shaft oil seal RH.
  5. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH 
    1. Coat the lip of a new rear drive shaft oil seal LH with a small amount of MP grease.
    2. Using SST and a hammer, install the rear drive shaft oil seal LH to the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
      • SST: 09316-20011 
      • SST: 09517-30010 

      Standard Depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0196 to 0.0196 in.)

      • Make sure that the outer lip of the rear drive shaft oil seal LH is not pinched by SST.
      • Do not allow foreign matter to attach to the inner lip and outer lip of the rear drive shaft oil seal LH.
      • Do not install the rear drive shaft oil seal LH at an angle.
      • Do not remove the grease from the inner lip and outer lip of the rear drive shaft oil seal LH.
  6. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
