  1. MALFUNCTION DESCRIPTION 

    If an overvoltage malfunction occurs in the motor inverter or generator inverter, the motor generator control ECU (MG ECU) detects the malfunction and stores this DTC. The cause of this malfunction may be one of the following:

    Area Main Malfunction Description
    Hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly
    • Open or short circuit in the motor or generator coils
    • Motor (MG2) or generator (MG1) internal malfunction (iron particles or damage from foreign objects)
    Resolver Open or short circuit in the motor resolver or generator resolver circuit
    HV battery
    • Open in system main relay circuit
    • Open in EV fuse circuit
    • Open in an HV floor under wire
    • HV battery malfunction
    Inverter
    • Inverter internal circuit malfunction
    • Malfunction in ECU that controls the inverter
    • Malfunction in the sensors for inverter control (current sensor, voltage sensors (VH, VL), etc.)
