  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P0AFC-00, P0AFC-96 or P308A-12 is not output. A
      P0AFC-00, P0AFC-96 or P308A-12 is also output. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM) 

    Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2019 - 09/2020] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2020 - 10/2021] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2021 - 11/2023]

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (HYBRID BATTERY TEMPERATURE) 
    1. Read the Data List.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Hybrid Battery Temperature 1
      Hybrid Battery Temperature 2
      Hybrid Battery Temperature 3
      Hybrid Battery Temperature 4
      Hybrid Battery Temperature 5
      Hybrid Battery Temperature 6

      HINT: 

      A malfunctioning sensor (battery temperature sensor 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) can be determined by comparing the output temperature of the 6 battery temperature sensors.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Result

      Proceed to

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSOR CONNECTOR) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Remove the HV battery junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

    3. Check the connections of the z12 battery voltage sensor connector.

      Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [12/2019 - ]

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

      Result

    4. Install the HV battery junction block assembly.

    Result:

  4. CHECK HYBRID BATTERY THERMISTOR (BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR)

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Remove the upper HV battery cover sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

    3. Check the wire harness and connectors of the battery temperature sensors for abnormalities by sight and touch.

      Specified Condition

      There are no open or short circuits in the wire harness and connectors. There are no short circuits to other wire harnesses.

    4. Install the upper HV battery cover sub-assembly.

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPLACE HYBRID BATTERY THERMISTOR 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]
