DTC P060A-94: Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module Monitoring Processor Unexpected Operation [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MOTOR GENERATOR) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Motor Generator > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      No DTCs are output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B
      Malfunction Content Relevant DTC
      Sensor and actuator circuit malfunction P0A3F-16 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Voltage Below Threshold
      P0A3F-21 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Signal Amplitude < Minimum
      P0A3F-22 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Signal Amplitude > Maximum

      HINT: 

      • P060A-94 may be output as a result of the malfunction indicated by the DTCs above.
        1. The chart above is listed in inspection order of priority.
        2. Check DTCs that are output at the same time by following the listed order. (The main cause of the malfunction can be determined without performing unnecessary inspections.)
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (MOTOR GENERATOR CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2019 - 10/2021]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2021 - 11/2023]

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (BRAKE/EPB) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Electronically Controlled Brake System DTCs are not output A
      Electronically Controlled Brake System DTCs are output B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2019 - 10/2021]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2021 - 11/2023]

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P060A-94 only is output. A
      DTCs except P060A-94 are output. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2019 - 09/2020]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2020 - 10/2021]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2021 - 11/2023]

  4. CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Read the Freeze Frame Data of DTC P060A-94.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Vehicle was stopped ("FR Wheel Speed" and "FL Wheel Speed" are between 0 and 1.4 km/h (0 and 1 mph)) but "Vehicle Speed" was 3 km/h (2 mph) or more A
      Vehicle was stopped ("FR Wheel Speed" and "FL Wheel Speed" are between 0 and 1.4 km/h (0 and 1 mph)) and "Vehicle Speed" was less than 3 km/h (2 mph) B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO MOTOR RESOLVER CIRCUIT 

    For the inspection method of the motor resolver circuit, refer to DTC P0A3F-16.

    Refer to DTC P0A3F-16: Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Voltage Below Threshold; DTC P0A3F-1F: Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent [12/2019 - 11/2023]

    Result: 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]
