DTC B147D-15: Rear Right Room Temperature Sensor Circuit Short to Battery or Open [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK NO. 2 ROOM TEMP. SENSOR (COOLER THERMISTOR) CIRCUIT 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the M16 No. 2 room temp. sensor (cooler thermistor) connector.

      (to No. 2 Room Temp. Sensor (Cooler Thermistor))

      Procedure1

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M16-1 (+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 0 to 5.5 V

      Result

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Clear DTCs

  3. CHECK FOR DTC 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the M16 No. 2 room temp. sensor (cooler thermistor) connector.

      (to No. 2 Room Temp. Sensor (Cooler Thermistor))
    3. Connect terminals 1 and 2 of the No. 2 room temp. sensor (cooler thermistor) connector on the wire harness side.

      *1 No. 2 Room Temp. Sensor (Cooler Thermistor)
      *2 Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 4 seconds or more.

      Procedure1

    5. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Trouble Codes

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - NO. 2 ROOM TEMP. SENSOR (COOLER THERMISTOR)) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the M16 No. 2 room temp. sensor (cooler thermistor) connector.
    2. Disconnect the H65 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M16-1 (+) - H65-8 (TR) Always Below 1 Ω
      M16-2 (-) - H65-14 (SG-8) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - NO. 2 ROOM TEMP. SENSOR (COOLER THERMISTOR)) 

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Disconnect the M16 No. 2 room temp. sensor (cooler thermistor) connector.
    2. Disconnect the H65 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M16-1 (+) or H65-8 (TR) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
