Air Conditioning Compressor Magnetic Clutch Circuit [12/2019 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT A/C COMP RELAY (MAGNET-CLUTCH RELAY) 

    Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [12/2019 - 11/2023]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE A/C COMP RELAY (MAGNET-CLUTCH RELAY) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C COMP RELAY (MAGNET-CLUTCH RELAY) - POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (A/C COMP relay (magnet-clutch relay)) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      1 (A/C COMP relay (magnet-clutch relay)) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      1 (A/C COMP relay (magnet-clutch relay)) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C COMP RELAY (MAGNET-CLUTCH RELAY) - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H63 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (A/C COMP relay (magnet-clutch relay)) - H63-19 (MGC) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (A/C COMP relay (magnet-clutch relay)) or H63-19 (MGC) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C COMP RELAY (MAGNET-CLUTCH RELAY) - MAGNET CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the C60 magnet clutch assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (A/C COMP relay (magnet-clutch relay)) - C60-3 (MG+) Always Below 1 Ω
      5 (A/C COMP relay (magnet-clutch relay)) or C60-3 (MG+) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAGNET CLUTCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Install the A/C COMP relay (magnet-clutch relay).
    2. Connect the C60 magnet clutch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C60-3 (MG+) - Body ground Engine running
      (A/C switch: Off)
      Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MAGNET CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2019 - 10/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG
