DTC C060E-19: Left Electric Parking Brake Actuator Circuit Current Above Threshold [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the uM2 and u2 No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connectors.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *c (to Parking Brake Actuator Assembly LH) - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      uM2-1 - u2-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      uM2-1 or u2-2 (+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      uM2-2 - u2-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      uM2-2 or u2-1 (-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) - PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Make sure the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
    2. Disconnect the A39 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the u2 parking brake actuator assembly LH connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A39-3 (MRL+) - u2-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A39-3 (MRL+) or u2-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A39-2 (MRL-) - u2-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A39-2 (MRL-) or u2-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the parking brake actuator assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - ]

    2. Inspect the parking brake actuator assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [12/2019 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Make sure the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
    2. Disconnect the u2 parking brake actuator assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Disconnect the uM2 No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  6. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Disconnect the uM2 No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A39 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
