AWD Warning Remains ON [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (DYNAMIC TORQUE CONTROL AWD SYSTEM) 
    1. Using the GTS, check for Vehicle Control History.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Vehicle Control History (RoB)

      HINT: 

      If vehicle control history is stored when the dynamic torque control AWD system is suspended, the warning message is displayed.

      There is no vehicle control history for when the dynamic torque control AWD system was suspended. A
      There is vehicle control history for when the dynamic torque control AWD system was suspended. B

    Result: 

    PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR REGARDING VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY 

    Refer to VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY [12/2019 - ] 

    NOTE:

    After performing troubleshooting and repairing regarding vehicle control history, clear the vehicle control history.

  2. CHECK IF 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED 
    1. Check if the 4WD ECU assembly connector is securely connected.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU CORRECTLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG1 TERMINAL) 
    1. Disconnect the M41 4WD ECU assembly connector.

      (to 4WD ECU Assembly)
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M41-24 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GND TERMINAL) 
    1. Disconnect the M41 4WD ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M41-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  5. READ VALUE USING GTS (AWD WARNING LIGHT) 
    1. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Data List

    2. Check the GTS display condition of the AWD warning light.

    GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING)

    REPLACE 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - ]
