Trouble in Passenger Airbag ON/OFF Indicator [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and check the SRS warning light condition.

      OK

      After the primary check period, the SRS warning light turns off.

      HINT: 

      The primary check is performed for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON.

    Result:

    GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2019 - 11/2023]

  2. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
    1. Using the GTS, perform Zero Point Calibration.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2019 - 10/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2021 - 11/2023]

      "Zero Point Calibration is complete." is displayed.

  3. RETIGHTEN FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH BOLT 
    1. Loosen the 4 installation bolts of the front seat assembly RH.
    2. Tighten the 4 installation bolts of the front seat assembly RH to the specified torque.

      for Manual Seat: Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - 11/2023]

      for Power Seat: Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - 11/2023]

  4. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
    1. Using the GTS, perform Zero Point Calibration.

  5. READ VALUE USING GTS 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      Body Electrical > Occupant Detection > Data List

      Passenger Buckle SW Front passenger side buckle switch NG, Set or Unset Set: Front passenger seat belt is fastened
      Unset: Front passenger seat belt is not fastened
      "NG" will be displayed immediately after the ignition switch is turned to ON.

      The GTS display changes correctly in accordance with the operation of the front passenger side buckle switch.

  6. CHECK CONNECTORS 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    3. Disconnect the connectors from the occupant detection ECU, front occupant classification sensor LH and rear occupant classification sensor LH.
    4. Check that the terminals of the connectors are not deformed or damaged.

      OK

      The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH

  7. REPLACE OCCUPANT DETECTION ECU 
    1. Connect the connectors to the front occupant classification sensor LH and rear occupant classification sensor LH.
    2. Replace the occupant detection ECU with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    4. Check that the terminals of the connectors are not deformed or damaged.

      The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

  10. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    3. Replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH with a new one.

      for Manual Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

      for Power Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
