Trouble in Passenger Airbag ON/OFF Indicator [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and check the SRS warning light condition.

      OK

      After the primary check period, the SRS warning light goes off.

      HINT: 

      The primary check is performed for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON.

    GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2023 - ]

  2. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
    1. Using the GTS, perform "Occupant Detection Sensor Zero Point Calibration".

  3. CHECK PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR 
    1. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator.

  4. RETIGHTEN FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH BOLT 
    1. Loosen the 4 installation bolts of the front seat assembly RH.
    2. Tighten the 4 installation bolts of the front seat assembly RH to the specified torque.

      for Manual Seat: Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2023 - ]

      for Power Seat: Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2023 - ]

  5. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION

  8. CHECK CONNECTORS 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      *1 Separate Type Front Seat Cushion Spring Assembly RH
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    3. Disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector.
    4. Disconnect the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly RH connector.
    5. Check that the terminals of the connectors are not deformed or damaged.

      OK

      The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  9. REPLACE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly RH connector.
    2. Replace the airbag sensor assembly with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    3. Disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector.
    4. Disconnect the front seat inner belt assembly RH connector.
    5. Check that the terminals of the connectors are not deformed or damaged.

      OK

      The terminals are not deformed or damaged.

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
