DTC C0500-14: Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Short to Ground or Open [12/2019 - 10/2021]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (MOMENTARY INTERRUPTION) 
    1. Select the line graph display on the GTS.
    2. Check for any momentary interruption in the wire harness and connector.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2019 - 11/2023]

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    3. Disconnect the A41 front speed sensor LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the A57 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    5. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A41-1 (FL+) - A57-22 (FL+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A41-1 (FL+) or A57-22 (FL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A41-2 (FL-) - A57-21 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A41-2 (FL-) or A57-21 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SENSOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Reconnect the A57 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

      (to Front Speed Sensor LH)
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    REPLACE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022]

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022]
