DTC B15D5: Rear Seat Entertainment System Disconnected [12/2019 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING) 
    1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

      HINT: 

      • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
      • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

  2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING) 
    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
      NOTE:

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

  3. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the R16 television display assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      R16-17 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H1 radio and display receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the R16 television display assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R16-4 (TX+) - H1-19 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-5 (TX-) - H1-20 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω

  6. REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the television display assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    REPLACE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H4 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the R16 television display assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R16-4 (TX+) - H4-19 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-5 (TX-) - H4-20 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-4 (TX+) or H4-19 (TX+)- Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
