System Description [12/2019 - 10/2022]

  1. GENERAL

The windshield deicer system uses thin heater wires attached to the inside of the windshield glass to help deice the window surface more quickly. An indicator light illuminates while the system is operating. This system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.

    NOTE:

If the auxiliary battery voltage becomes low, auxiliary battery load control will operate in order to ensure sufficient power is supplied to the power steering system. In this case, the windshield deicer system may not operate.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

Front Wiper Deicer Switch (Air Conditioning Control Assembly)*2 Sends signals to the air conditioning amplifier assembly to operate the windshield deicer system.
Front Wiper Deicer Switch*1 Sends windshield deicer activation request signals to the DEICER relay.
