BACKGROUND
Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles have mainly three different methods for front/rear door outer panel hemming installation depending on model and model year.
[Method 1] Body Sealer + Spot MIG Weld (Fig. 1)
[Method 2] Adhesive (3MTM AutomixTM Panel Bonding Adhesive #8115) + Spot MIG Weld (Fig. 2)
[Method 3] Adhesive (3MTM AutomixTM Panel Bonding Adhesive #8115) (Fig. 3)
Repair:
Models and model years with installation method #1 and #2 can be substituted to installation method #3.
Hemming thickness must be within 0.2mm of the original door hemming thickness.
NOTE:
This applies only to hemming area. Other areas of repair procedures have to be followed per Collision Repair Manual. (e.g. body sealer to door reinforcement, plug weld)
