DTC P0325-11: Knock Sensor 1 Bank 1 or Single Sensor Circuit Short to Ground; DTC P0330-11: Knock Sensor 2 Bank 2 Circuit Short to Ground [12/2019 - 10/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR)

    *a Front view of wire harness connector
    (to Knock Control Sensor)
    *b Bank 1
    *c Bank 2
    1. Disconnect the knock control sensor connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      n1-2 (KNK1) - n1-1 (EKNK) Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V
      n2-2 (KNK2) - n2-1 (EKN2) Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    NG

  2. INSPECT KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR 

    Refer to INSPECTION [12/2019 - 10/2022]

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the knock control sensor.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2019 - 10/2022]

    REPLACE KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 10/2022] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the knock control sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      n1-2 (KNK1) or C54-82 (KNK1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      n2-2 (KNK2) or C54-114 (KNK2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC.

      Powertrain > Engine > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

      Result

      Proceed to

  5. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P0325-11 OR P0330-11) 
    1. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    2. Read the DTCs.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTC P0325-11 or P0330-11 is output B

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [12/2019 - 10/2022]

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 09/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - 10/2022]
