DTC B235B-18: Power Distribution Box Circuit Current Below Threshold [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Power Distribution Box > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Turn the rear window defogger switch ON.
    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Power Distribution Box > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B235B-18 is output A
      B235B-18 is not output B

    Result: 

    B 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2019 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the 8G power distribution box assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Power Distribution Box Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8G-43 - Body ground Always Below 10 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

    NG

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - BACK DOOR GLASS (REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER WIRE)) 
    1. Disconnect the W2 back door glass (rear window defogger wire) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (to Power Distribution Box Assembly)

      (to Back Door Glass (Rear Window Defogger Wire))

      8G-43 - W2-1 (B) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR GLASS (REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER WIRE) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the W3 back door glass (rear window defogger wire) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W3-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BACK DOOR GLASS (REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER WIRE). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ]
