Removal [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly, heat the vehicle body and rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature

    Item Temperature
    Rear Door Lower Outside Moulding Sub-assembly and Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the vehicle body and rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly excessively.

    1. Remove the 2 clips and screw.

    2. Apply protective tape around the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly.
    4. Disengage the 4 clips and separate the double-sided tape to remove the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly.

  2. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly, heat the vehicle body and rear door outside moulding sub-assembly using a heat light.

    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 5 claws.

    3. Remove the plug plate.

    4. Remove the nut.

    5. Apply protective tape around the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    6. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.
    7. Disengage the 9 clips and separate the double-sided tape to remove the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.

    8. Remove the 9 clips from the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.
