Installation [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly, heat the vehicle body using a heat light.

    Standard Measurement

    Item Measurement
    Vehicle Body 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.

    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
      2. Remove any double-sided tape from the vehicle body.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Install 9 new clips to the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.
    3. Install the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
      2. Remove the release paper from the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Engage the 9 clips and attach the double-sided tape.

        HINT: 

        Press the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly firmly to install it.

      4. Install the nut.
      5. Install a new plug plate.
      6. Engage the 5 claws.
      7. Install the rear door outside moulding sub-assembly with the clip.
    4. Remove the protective tape.
  2. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly, heat the vehicle body using a heat light.

    Standard Measurement

      2. Remove the release paper from the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly.

        HINT:

      3. Engage the 4 clips and attach the double-sided tape.

        HINT: 

        Press the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly firmly to install it.

      4. Install the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly with the screw and 2 clips.
    3. Remove the protective tape.
