Installation [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FRONT FENDER UPPER OUTSIDE MOULDING PAD 

    HINT: 

    • Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front fender upper outside moulding pad is necessary.
    • When installing the front fender upper outside moulding pad, heat the front fender moulding sub-assembly using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature

    Item Temperature
    Front Fender Moulding Sub-assembly 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the front fender moulding sub-assembly excessively.

    1. Clean the front fender moulding sub-assembly.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the front fender moulding sub-assembly surface.
      2. Remove any double-sided tape from the front fender moulding sub-assembly.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the front fender upper outside moulding pad installation area.
      NOTE:
      • Use a clean brush or felt.
      • Do not touch the front fender moulding sub-assembly until the primer has dried.
    3. Install a new front fender upper outside moulding pad.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the front fender moulding sub-assembly surface.
      2. Remove the release paper from the front fender upper outside moulding pad.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the front fender upper outside moulding pad as shown in the illustration.

        Standard Measurement

        Area Measurement
        A 3.0 mm (0.118 in.)
        B 5.0 mm (0.197 in.)

        HINT: 

        Press the front fender upper outside moulding pad firmly to install it.

  2. INSTALL FRONT FENDER MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    • Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front fender moulding sub-assembly is necessary.
    • When installing the front fender moulding sub-assembly, heat the vehicle body using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.

    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
      2. Remove any double-sided tape from the vehicle body.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Install 3 new clips to the front fender moulding sub-assembly.
    3. Install the front fender moulding sub-assembly.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
      2. Remove the release paper from the front fender moulding sub-assembly.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Engage the 3 clips and attach the double-sided tape.

        HINT: 

        Press the front fender moulding sub-assembly firmly to install it.

      4. w/o Mudguard:
        1. Install the 2 grommets.
        2. Install the front fender moulding sub-assembly with the clip and screw.
      5. w/ Mudguard:
        1. Install the front fender moulding sub-assembly with the 2 grommets.
    4. Remove the protective tape.
  3. INSTALL FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    When installing the front fender wheel opening moulding sub-assembly, heat the vehicle body using a heat light.

      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
      2. Remove any double-sided tape from the vehicle body.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Install a new front fender wheel opening moulding sub-assembly.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
      2. Remove the release paper from the front fender wheel opening moulding sub-assembly.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Engage the 7 clips and attach the double-sided tape.

        HINT: 

        Press the front fender wheel opening moulding sub-assembly firmly to install it.

      4. Engage the 4 claws as shown in the illustration.

        Install in this Direction
      5. Install each screw.
      6. Install the front fender wheel opening moulding sub-assembly with the 5 clips.
    3. Remove the protective tape.
  4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER MUDGUARD (w/ Mudguard) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
