On-Vehicle Inspection [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FRONT WIPER DEICER SWITCH 
    1. Check wire harness and connector.
      1. Disconnect the H37 front wiper deicer switch connector.

        (to Front Wiper Deicer Switch)
      2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        H37-6 (ILL+) - H37-1 (ILL-) Headlight dimmer switch off → tail or head Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
        H37-4 (D) - H37-2 (E) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
        H37-5 (IG) - H37-2 (E) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        H37-1 (ILL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        H37-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. Check that the front wiper deicer switch operates.
      1. Connect the H37 front wiper deicer connector.

        *a Component with harness connected
        (Front Wiper Deicer Switch)
      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        H37-4 (D) - H37-2 (E) Ignition switch ON, front wiper deicer switch off → on 11 to 14 V → Below 1 V (after 12 to 18 minutes: 11 to 14 V)
        H37-5 (IG) - H37-2 (E) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front wiper deicer switch.

    3. Check that the indicator light illuminates.

      *a Indicator Light
      *b Illumination
      1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
      2. Make sure that the indicator light illuminates when the front wiper deicer switch is turned on, and then goes off after 12 to 18 minutes elapse.

        OK

        The indicator light goes off.

    4. Check that the illumination illuminates.
      1. Make sure that the illumination illuminates when the headlight dimmer switch is turned from off to tail or head.

        OK

        The illumination illuminates.
