DTC B2651: Reclining Sensor Malfunction [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Clear DTCs

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Trouble Codes

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SEAT RECLINING OPERATION) 
    1. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  4. CHECK POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY (RECLINING MOTOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the g5 reclining motor (separate type front seatback spring assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      g5-2 - g5-3 Reclining switch on 4.8 to 5.1 V

  5. CHECK RECLINING MOTOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Reconnect the g5 reclining motor (separate type front seatback spring assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

    REPLACE RECLINING MOTOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [12/2019 - 10/2021]  , or refer to  DISASSEMBLY [10/2021 - 11/2023]  , or refer to  DISASSEMBLY [11/2023 - ] 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - RECLINING MOTOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the e25 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e25-11 (SSRR) - g5-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      e25-11 (SSRR) or g5-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e25-12 (SGND) - g5-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      e25-12 (SGND) or g5-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - RECLINING MOTOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK SPRING ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the e23 and e24 position control ECU assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e23-10 (RCL+) - g5-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      e23-10 (RCL+) or g5-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e24-6 (RCL-) - g5-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      e24-6 (RCL-) or g5-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
