Inspection [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Seat Position Memory System) 
    1. Check the operation of the mirror surface.
      NOTE:

      If the mirror surface is fully turned to the right, left, upward or downward position, the motor slips and produces a clicking noise. This is not a malfunction.

      1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror surface.

        *a Component without harness connected
        (Outer Rear View Mirror Assembly RH)

        OK

        Auxiliary Battery Connection Specified Condition
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 7 (MV)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 13 (M+)
        Turns upward
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 13 (M+)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 7 (MV)
        Turns downward
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 14 (MH)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 13 (M+)
        Turns left
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 13 (M+)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 14 (MH)
        Turns right

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly RH.

  2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Seat Position Memory System) 
    1. Check the operation of the mirror surface.
      NOTE:

      If the mirror surface is fully turned to the right, left, upward or downward position, the motor slips and produces a clicking noise. This is not a malfunction.

      1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror surface.

        OK

        Auxiliary Battery Connection Specified Condition
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 7 (MV)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 13 (M+)
        Turns upward
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 13 (M+)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 7 (MV)
        Turns downward
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 14 (MH)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 13 (M+)
        Turns left
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 13 (M+)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 14 (MH)
        Turns right

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

  3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Seat Position Memory System) 
    1. Check the operation of the mirror surface.
      NOTE:

      If the mirror surface is fully turned to the right, left, upward or downward position, the motor slips and produces a clicking noise. This is not a malfunction.

      1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror surface.

        OK

        Battery Connection Specified Condition
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (MV)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 10 (M+)
        Turns upward
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 10 (M+)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (MV)
        Turns downward
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 9 (MH)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 10 (M+)
        Turns left
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 10 (M+)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 9 (MH)
        Turns right

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer rear view mirror assembly RH.

  4. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Seat Position Memory System) 
    1. Check the operation of the mirror surface.
      NOTE:

      If the mirror surface is fully turned to the right, left, upward or downward position, the motor slips and produces a clicking noise. This is not a malfunction.

      1. Disconnect the outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
      2. Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the mirror surface.

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (MV)
        Turns downward
        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 9 (MH)
        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 10 (M+)

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 10 (M+)
