DTC C1AB4-12: Outer Mirror Indicator (Module "B" Side) Circuit Short to Battery [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor "B" > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2019 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the M43 blind spot monitor sensor LH (B) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M43-4 (OMIL) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH (B). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the B outer mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M43-4 (OMIL) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE OUTER MIRROR LH (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR LH). Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ]

    NG

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the J37 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      M43-4 (OMIL) - Body ground Ignition switch ON Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor "B" > Trouble Codes

      C1AB4-12 is output B

    Result:

    2. Disconnect the B outer mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH) connector.

      Procedure1

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
