Back Door Closer does not Operate [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC B2250-01 is output B
      DTC B2251-01 is output C

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DTC B2250-01: Back Door Closer General Electrical Failure [11/2023 - ]  

    Result: 

    GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DTC B2251-01: Back Door Closer Switch General Electrical Failure [11/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK BACK DOOR LOCK FUNCTION 
    1. Check if the back door can be fully closed by hand.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The back door can be closed normally A
      The back door cannot be closed normally B

    Result: 

    IMPROPER FIT OF BACK DOOR, OR A FOREIGN OBJECT IS STUCK IN BACK DOOR 

    Result:

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the W30, W28 and W27 multiplex network door ECU connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W28-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W30-7 (ECUB) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V*1
      10.5 to 16 V*2
      W27-5 (B) - Body ground Ignition switch off 11 to 14 V*1
      10.5 to 16 V*2
      W30-9 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      1. *1: w/o Stop and Start System
      2. *2: w/ Stop and Start System

  4. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK WITH COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the W13 and W14 back door lock with courtesy light switch assembly connectors.
    2. Disconnect the W28 and W30 multiplex network door ECU connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W13-2 (M+) - W28-2 (DC+) Always Below 1 Ω
      W13-1 (M-) - W28-6 (DC-) Always Below 1 Ω
      W14-4 (CTY) - W30-3 (FUL) Always Below 1 Ω
      W14-2 (FSW) - W30-13 (PAWL) Always Below 1 Ω
      W14-3 (CLS) - W30-5 (HAF) Always Below 1 Ω
      W14-6 (OPN) - W30-15 (POS) Always Below 1 Ω
      W14-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      W13-2 (M+) or W28-2 (DC+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W13-1 (M-) or W28-6 (DC-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W14-2 (FSW) or W30-13 (PAWL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W14-4 (CTY) or W30-3 (FUL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
