Power Back Door does not Operate Using Outside Switch [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Operate the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly and check the customization status.
      Display Description Default Setting Relevant ECU
      System Settings Function that enables/disables the power back door. ON ON or OFF Multiplex network door ECU

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Customization item is "ON" (power back door system operation is possible) A
      Customization item is "OFF" (power back door system operation is prohibited) B

    Result: 

    PERFORM CUSTOMIZE SETTING. Refer to  CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [11/2023 - ]

  2. CHECK POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM 
    1. Check the power back door system.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Power back door system operates normally A
      Power back door system does not operate normally B

    Result: 

    GO TO POWER BACK DOOR CANNOT BE OPERATED FREQUENTLY. Refer to  Power Back Door cannot be Operated Frequently [11/2023 - ]

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Data List

      PBD Close Switch No. 1 power back door control switch signal ON or OFF ON: No. 1 power back door control switch pushed
      OFF: No. 1 power back door control switch not pushed

      The GTS display changes correctly in response to the switch operation.

  4. INSPECT NO. 1 POWER BACK DOOR CONTROL SWITCH 

    Refer to INSPECTION [12/2019 - ]

    REPLACE NO. 1 POWER BACK DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ]

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 POWER BACK DOOR CONTROL SWITCH - MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the W17 No. 1 power back door control switch connector.
    2. Disconnect the W30 multiplex network door ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W17-5 (CLS) - W30-14 (BDDN) Always Below 1 Ω
      W17-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      W17-5 (CLS) or W30-14 (BDDN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2023 - ]
