DTC B2220: Back Door Motor Circuit [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Clear DTCs 

    2. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2220 is not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY SET LH 
    1. Fully open the back door.
    2. Disconnect the power back door unit assembly set LH connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Power Back Door Unit Assembly Set LH)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Always Below 1 MΩ

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY SET LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY SET RH 
    1. Fully open the back door.
    2. Disconnect the power back door unit assembly set RH connector.

      (Power Back Door Unit Assembly Set RH)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Always Below 1 MΩ

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY SET RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU - POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY SET LH) 
    1. Disconnect the W19 multiplex network door ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W19-7 (BD+) - W21-1 (BD+) Always Below 1 Ω
      W19-6 (BD-) - W21-2 (BD-) Always Below 1 Ω
      W19-7 (BD+) or W21-1 (BD+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W19-6 (BD-) or W21-2 (BD-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU - POWER BACK DOOR UNIT ASSEMBLY SET RH) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W19-8 (BD+2) - W20-1 (BD+2) Always Below 1 Ω
      W19-9 (BD-2) - W20-2 (BD-2) Always Below 1 Ω
      W19-8 (BD+2) or W20-1 (BD+2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W19-9 (BD-2) or W20-2 (BD-2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 11/2023]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
