DTC B222A: PBD Touch Sensor LH Circuit [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Clear DTCs 

    2. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B222A is not output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2019 - ]

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      Body Electrical > Back Door > Data List

      PBD Touch Sensor (Left) Power back door sensor assembly LH signal OFF, ON or Open OFF: Power back door sensor assembly LH not pressed
      ON: Power back door sensor assembly LH pressed

      Tester Display
      PBD Touch Sensor (Left)

      On the GTS screen, OFF or ON is displayed accordingly A
      On the GTS screen, OFF or ON is not displayed accordingly or Open is displayed for power back door sensor assembly LH B

    REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 11/2023]

  3. INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to INSPECTION [12/2019 - ]

    REPLACE POWER BACK DOOR SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU - POWER BACK DOOR SENSOR ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the W18 multiplex network door ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W18-26 (OSL) - W10-1 (OSL) Always Below 1 Ω
      W18-24 (OSE) - W10-2 (OSLE) Always Below 1 Ω
      W18-26 (OSL) or W10-1 (OSL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W18-24 (OSE) or W10-2 (OSLE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2019 - 11/2023]
