Installation [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET 
    1. Apply MP grease to the entire surface of the rear wiper motor grommet lip.

      HINT: 

      Make sure that the hole does not get clogged with grease and the grooves on the lip are filled with grease.

    2. Install the rear wiper motor grommet as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      Install the rear wiper motor grommet with its alignment mark facing up.

  2. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the rear wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf/cm, 49 in.lbf) 

    2. Engage the clamp.
    3. Connect the connector.
  3. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY 
    1. When reusing the rear wiper arm and blade assembly:
      1. Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove any burrs, dirt, etc.
        NOTE:

        Do not grind down the wiper arm serrations.

    2. When reusing the rear wiper motor assembly:
      1. Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Operate the rear wiper motor assembly and stop it at the automatic stop position.
    5. Turn the ignition switch off.
    6. Install the rear wiper arm and blade assembly with the nut to the position shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf/cm, 49 in.lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

      Reference Measurement

      Area Measurement
      A 10.0 mm (0.394 in.)
    7. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    8. Operate the rear wiper while spraying washer fluid onto the back door glass. Make sure that the rear wiper functions properly and the wiper does not contact the vehicle body.
    9. Turn the ignition switch off.
    10. Lift the wiper arm twice after the wiper stops and check the wiper set position.
  4. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP 
    1. Engage the 2 claws to temporarily install the rear wiper arm head cap as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Close the rear wiper arm head cap as shown in the illustration.

    3. Engage the 2 guides to install the rear wiper arm head cap as shown in the illustration.

  5. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35

  6. INSTALL BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36

  7. INSTALL BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
