Pattern Select Switch EV Mode Circuit [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. ASK ABOUT VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Check if a buzzer sounded and a message was displayed on the multi-information display when attempting to enter EV drive mode.

      Result

      No buzzer sounded and no message was displayed on multi-information display A
      A buzzer sounded and a message was displayed on multi-information display B

      HINT: 

      If a buzzer sounds or a message is displayed on the multi-information display, one or more of the EV drive mode entry conditions have not been met.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (CAN BUS CHECK) 
    1. Perform the CAN Bus Check using the GTS.

      CAN Bus Check

      All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed. A
      None of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed, or some of them are not displayed. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK) 
    1. Perform the Health Check using the GTS.
    2. Check for DTCs.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

    1. Read the Data List using the GTS.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EV DRIVE MODE SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the P9 EV drive mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P9-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the P9 EV drive mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - EV DRIVE MODE SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the H67 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the P9 EV drive mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H67-33 (EVSW) - P9-5 (S) Always Below 1 Ω
      H67-33 (EVSW) or P9-5 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the P9 EV drive mode switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
    5. Reconnect the H67 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
