DTC P322F-11: Communication Error from Airbag to Generator Circuit Short to Ground [12/2019 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      Airbag system DTCs are not output. A
      Airbag system DTCs are output. B
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (AIRBAG SYSTEM) 

    Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2019 - 10/2021] , or refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2021 - 11/2023]

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    NG (The terminals are not making secure contact or are deformed, or water or foreign matter exists in the connector.) C

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the airbag sensor assembly connector.

      Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [12/2019 - ]

      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact pressure problems.

  4. CHECK INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the H58 airbag sensor assembly connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H58-24 (GSW2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      NOTE:

      Turning the ignition switch to ON with the airbag sensor assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    4. Turn the ignition switch off.
    5. Reconnect the H58 airbag sensor assembly connector.

      Result

  5. REPLACE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  6. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

  7. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MOTOR GENERATOR) 
    1. Check for DTCs.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the ignition switch to ON (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect the A55 inverter with converter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the H58 airbag sensor assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Open)

    5. Reconnect the H58 airbag sensor assembly connector.
    6. Reconnect the A55 inverter with converter assembly connector.

    REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
