Installation [12/2019 - ]: Procedure

HINT: 

Perform the following procedure only when replacement of a No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip is necessary.

1. Using a riveter with a nose piece, install 5 new No. 3 windshield outside moulding clips.

   HINT: 

   If the mandrel of the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip does not come off on the first operation of the rivet gun, slide the rivet gun forward on the mandrel and operate it again.

   NOTE:

   • Do not pry the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip with the riveter, as this will cause damage to the riveter and mandrel.

   • Confirm that the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clips are seated properly against the vehicle body.

   • Do not tilt the riveter when installing the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip to the vehicle body.

2. Install the windshield glass sub-assembly.

   Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2019 - 09/2020] , or refer to INSTALLATION [09/2020 - 10/2021] , or refer to INSTALLATION [10/2021 - ]

HINT: 

Perform the following procedure only when replacement of a No. 1 windshield outside moulding clip is necessary.

1. Engage the 5 claws to install the 5 No. 1 windshield outside moulding clips as shown in the illustration.

   Install in this Direction

1. Engage the 10 claws to install the windshield outside moulding.

HINT: 

When installing the front fender front splash shield, heat the vehicle body using a heat light.

Heating Temperature

WARNING:

• Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
• Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

1. Clean the vehicle body surface.
   1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
   2. Remove any double-sided tape from the vehicle body.
   3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
2. Install a new front fender front splash shield.
   1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.
   2. Remove the release paper from the front fender front splash shield.

      HINT: 

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

   3. Engage the 2 claws and attach the double-sided tape to install the front fender front splash shield.

      HINT: 

      Press the front fender front splash shield firmly to install it.
