Removal [10/2022 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  2. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

  3. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear drive shaft assembly LH and RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - 11/2023]

  4. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER BAR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  5. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and rear differential support from the rear No. 2 differential support and torque vectoring differential carrier assembly.

      Temporarily install the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

  6. REMOVE TORQUE VECTORING DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Do not damage the contact surface when removing the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly.
    • The remaining oil may leak out when removing the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly.
    • Securely support the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly while performing this step to avoid excessively tilting or dropping the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly.
    • Remove the bolts and nuts with the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly secured.
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors and breather tube.

    2. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the frame wire.
    3. Support the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly with a transmission jack using 2 attachments or equivalent tools as shown in the illustration.

      WARNING:

      The torque vectoring differential carrier assembly is a heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.

      NOTE:

      Use attachments or equivalent tools to keep the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly level.

    4. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 rear lower differential mount stoppers.

      HINT: 

      The nuts have tabs to prevent them from rotating.

    5. Lower the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly slowly to remove the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly.
      NOTE:

      Move the transmission jack forward and backward as necessary to prevent the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly from contacting the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 2 rear upper differential mount stoppers from the rear No. 2 differential support.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and rear No. 2 differential support from the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly.

  8. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL DYNAMIC DAMPER 
    1. Remove the bolt and rear differential dynamic damper from the rear No. 2 differential support.

  9. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL DYNAMIC DAMPER 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 rear upper differential mount stoppers and rear No. 2 differential dynamic damper from the differential support.

  10. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and differential support from the torque vectoring differential carrier assembly.
